Experience:

I’ve been teaching dance and exercise 38 years.

I am a professional dancer, choreographer, actress, model, and for 18 years, Director of Dance and Body Studio, which was located in Sweetwater, Florida. I’m a former member of Dance Educators of America during my 18 years with the studio. I studied dance at numerous dance studios and with numerous teachers and choreographers.  I teach ballet, jazz, tap, Flamenco, belly dance, aerobics, yoga/Pilates, chair yoga, line dancing, salsa, merengue, cha cha, and rumba, and mambo. I teach social ballroom which includes, foxtrot, waltz, tango, swing, country two step, and quick step. I am the former lead dancer and choreographer of Nestor Cabel And Company, where I performed every weekend for thirteen years and traveled with the show to New Jersey.  I was also lead dancer of "Las Jardineras", a comparsa group that performed at street festivals and parades such as the "King Orange Bowl Parade" and "Calle Ocho", in the 80s.  I am the female dancer of the dance couple, from which "Calle Ocho" devised their logo.  I had the privilege of choreographing for singers such as "Franco" and for band leader, "Cheito", and many “Quinces”.  I directed and choreographed for "The Rhythm Dancers", a dance group that performed at festivals, parades, malls, fairs, and private parties.  They have also performed at "Disney World and "Universal Studios", in Orlando, Florida.

I appeared in two episodes of "Que Pasa USA", "Que Casa Mi Casa", Miami Vice, numerous Latin television talk shows, and have done many commercials and international ads. I also appeared in newspapers, magazines, and in national posters for Eastern Airlines; “Dancer", and "Dance Teacher Now". Television appearances: "Despierta America", "Control" and "Personalidades Y Sociedad", "Atrevido" and  special channel 51 reports on belly dancing all related to "El Clon" (a Spanish television soap opera). I received two ACCA awards (Association of Cuban Commentators of the Arts), One for best dancer in a musical and another for acting in comedy skits. I also won beauty pageants and modeling awards.

I have written small comedy skits, which were performed at my dance school’s recitals.

I devised "Salsacisesm", a fun way to exercise with Latin music and fun props.  Salsacisesm received its service mark in the State of Florida, in 1986.  I produced my own salsacisesm video back in 1990. I judged at the Dade County Youth Fair dance competitions, for 12 years. I presently live in Boynton Beach FL, where I taught at the Boynton Beach Community High School for 11 years and am now teaching at the Olympic Heights Community High school.  I also teach at various private communities.  I still perform and choreograph at my community’s Performing arts Club, and recently choreographed the musical "Grease", at Teatro Bellaggio and, cheographed the show for the Perfoming Arts Club at Valencia Falls.  I'm presently competing in ballroom dancing and won 1st place in the silver level of smooth and viennese waltz. Again, on April 7th 2019,  earned 1st place in the Silver level of Foxtrot, American Waltz, Viennese Waltz and Quick Step, at the DIVA DANCESPORT COMPETITION, held at the Marriott, West Palm Beach. My partner and instructor is Daniel Maloney of Grand Ballroom and Dance Sport U.S.A., located in Boynton Beach.
