1. Tap Dancing Beginner/Intermediate
Instructions of basic tap dance steps and combinations to get you started in tap dancing such as shuffles, leaps, toe and heel drops, shuffles, paddles, etc. Learn time steps, front and back Irish, waltz clog, Maxi Ford, soft shoe etc. Intermediate steps include the buck and wing, the Cincinnati, the Manhattan, quadruplets, riffs, trebles, pullbacks and lots more. Tap shoes are necessary.
2. LINE AND PARTY DANCING
Dance to Western, folk, Broadway, Latin, party and popular line dance routines. It’s a great cardio workout. No sandals or flip flops.
3. CHAIR EXERCISES AND YOGA
Get the benefits of exercise and yoga without getting on the floor. Chair yoga can be undertaken by anyone because it is gentle. It will help you relax and calm your mind and body and get rid of stress and enhance many health benefits. You will need a medium strength therapeutic exercise band. If you don’t have one, you can purchase it from the instructor for $6.00.
4. YOGA/PILATES
Discover the many benefits of daily yoga practice and Pilates. Improve flexibility of the spine, strengthen and tone muscles and core, maintain the healthy function of internal organs and prevent disease. Yoga will reduce stress and guide you on the path to inner peace.
5. SALSA /MAMBO/CHA CHA/MERENGUE – (Intermediate)
Learn turns, fancy footwork and styling and shine on the dance floor. Steps can be done with a partner or as a group line dance. Utilize the fancy footwork when you separate from the closed position with your partner. Rueda (circle dancing) is sometimes done. Must know your salsa basic steps. Please no flip flops or sandals.
6. SALSA/MAMBO/MERENGUE/CHACHA/SAMBA – (Beginners)
Learn your basic steps and turn combinations in each of these dances. A partner is not required. Please no flip flops or sandals.
7. SOCIAL BALLROOM - (Foxtrot/Waltz/Tango/Swing/Country Two Step
Learn the basic steps and combinations of all these dances. A partner is not required. Please no flip flops or sandals
8. BELLY DANCING – BEGINNERS/INTERMEDIATE
Learn your basic belly dance moves with movements emanating from the torso rather than in the legs and feet. It focuses on isolating different parts of the body, moving them independently in sensuous patterns.
Learn how to play the brass finger zills, use the veil, and learn dance routines. This is a real fun class for the sensuous and young at heart. A veil and zills are needed which will be explained how to obtain, in class.
9. ADULT JAZZ/BALLET
Practice ballet bar exercises and center practice. Learn basic jazz moves and technique. Have fun learning dance routines in a variety of dance styles.
10. FLAMENCO
Flamenco is known for its emotional intensity, proud carriage, and expressive use of the arms and rhythmic stamping of the feet
This very exciting class covers hand clapping and footwork combinations. Learn how to use arms and hands in this dance style from Spain. Learn to play the castanets and dance Sevillanas and Rumba Flamenca. Castanets (optional) are needed. Closed shoes with a small thick heel are needed for footwork.
